A Little Bit About Me

The only family I've ever known is moving out of state and cannot take me with them. So they brought me here since they know that Animal Humane is dedicated to find the perfect home for good dogs like me.

I really am a great dog: I am house trained, know several commands including"sit, stay and come," and love to play tug games, wrestle and chase. Another plus is that my age puts me in the "senior" category which means that I am not a silly puppy, but an adult fellow with much of my training behind me and many years ahead of me. Some notes my former owners said about me: "he slept in the same bed as we did; he stayed alone in the house for up to eight hours without a human, and did fine outside, too."

My favorite plaything is a squeaky toy, but what I'm hoping for is a family who appreciates a dog with a background like mine. I would love to learn more commands and to go on walks so we can both stay in shape.

A volunteer notes: I have walked Felix a couple of times and noticed that Felix is trying so hard to prove he's a good dog. He can be a little overanxious at the start of a walk, but he's a people-dog, and he'll calm down when he hears his human partner's voice. A little "lean-in" time helps, too. He's really working to make this big adjustment turn out well for himself and the family that makes him their own.

We unfortunately can not put animals on HOLD over the phone

An animal that enters our shelter as a stray may be available to be viewed and pre-adopted before the available date.

Please contact us to inquire about an animal’s current availability, with the animal ID. Although this website is live and updates frequently, there is a chance that you may arrive at our location after an animal has been adopted, or while another party is in the adoption process.
